Round 5 - Warm Up GTS and GT Cars Get Ready To Rumble Vallelunga, Italy - Sunday 2nd September 2001: Under cloudy skies the Lanesra Panoz LMP1 Roadster continued its domination of the final round of the 2001 European Le Mans Series, but in GTS and GT the teams made their final preparations for the race. In GTS the RML Saleen continued to head the class, just 0.5 seconds ahead of the Konrad Motorsport Saleen. In GT the Paco Orti Racing Porsche 911 out paced class pole sitters Harlow Motorsport after Terry Rymer went off, causing damage to the front end of the 911and breaking the steering arm. The team were confident that the car would be on the track for the race at the head of the GT grid. With
concerns about the weather a short 15 minute practice session was
scheduled in case it rained, but as the time approached for the cars
to take to the track the rain stopped, the clouds parted and the
Vallelunga circuit was bathed in bright sunshine. The pitlane opens at 12:15 (local) with the two hours and forty five minute race getting underway at 13:04. Warm Up - 30 Minutes 1
