Andy Frezza - Event Manager, Global Events Group EVENT:
American Le Mans Series Grand Prix of Portland, August 3-5, 2001 ENCLOSED:
Information concerning team & sponsor hospitality costs Portland
in August is a beautiful place to be.
The temperature hovers around 80-85 degrees, the nights are crisp
and clear, and the views of Mt. Hood and downtown at night are
breathtaking. It’s a
perfect time to take care of the people who enable your cars, drivers, and
crew to race every weekend-your corporate team members.
In
Portland we offer a wide variety of hospitality accommodations.
I have included a sheet describing the four main chalets we offer,
but we can and will customize a program to fit your corporate or team
needs. Please give Tony Hufford or Matt Wade a
call at 503-821-4341 or
503-821-4343 with any questions concerning hospitality. If
you would like information on nice places to eat, drink, dance, or if you
would like to plan a night out on the town for your team(s) give me a call
at 503-821-4344. I have
also included in this mailing the 2001 Portland Visitor’s Guide for your
convenience. I want this to
be your favorite town to not only race at, but to visit every year, and
I’ll help your team out with any creative planning ideas in order for
this to ring true in 2001. Thank
you for doing what you do every race day. Andy

All ALMS Team Owners Re:
Team Motorhomes/Portland We
look forward to welcoming you to Portland, Oregon - home of the American
Le Mans Grand Prix of Portland August 3-5, 2001.
Team motorhomes are available near the paddock area.
As space is limited, the following is available to you: Team
owners have first priority for reservations.
Team motorhome spaces are 20’x55’ each.
Awnings and any other additional items MUST fit within the confines
of your designated area. On
the enclosed reservation form, please indicate the total length of the
area you request, including any extra trailer units or kitchen units.
Attach a sketch of your anticipated equipment layout. Team
Motorhome spaces will be $2500 for the first, $3000 for the second, and
$4500 for the third space. There will be a $200 charge for a cable hook-up
and a $200 charge for power if needed. Make sure these orders
are added to your motorhome request form. Teams
are not allowed to trade or sell Motorcoach/Hospitality admission. Anyone
serving food and alcohol at a motorhome must sign the enclosed waiver
releasing Global Events Group and other designees from liability
responsibility. The
legal age in Oregon for consumption of alcoholic beverages is 21.
The Oregon Liquor Control Commission is very strict on service to
minors and have shut down hospitality suites where minors were found with
alcohol. Please keep all
alcoholic beverages away from the entrance to your motorhome area, and
pick up any leftover glasses of beer, etc. left on tables as guests leave. Team
motorhome spaces are located in the infield, on the grass, immediately
north and east of the paddock, just beyond the foot of the pedestrian
bridge. As we do not have a
vehicle bridge to the infield, once in place, the motorhomes can only
leave either prior to or after all track activities each day. Move-in
begins Wednesday at noon, August 1 and will be conducted under the
supervision of ALMS and Event Officials.
Please do not attempt to place your motorhome on your own.
Space is limited; it is important that you do not take more than
your allocated area location. Changes
will be made on availability basis. If
you are not moved in by 6:00 pm on Thursday, August 2, you may forfeit
your assigned space. Temporary
signage, displays, selling merchandise, promotional activities, and
activity on observation platforms (i.e. signage, viewing, etc.) are not
allowed in the team motorhome area. To
guarantee availability for a motorhome space, please complete and return
the enclosed Team Motorhome Request Form no later than July 13, 2001. If
you have any questions please feel free to call Andy Frezza, Event Manager
at (503) 821-4344.
