Officials of Professional Sports Car Racing, the sanctioning body of the American Le Mans Series, have announced that driver Max Angelelli (#8-P900 Cadillac LMP 01)has been reprimanded and cautioned as to his future conduct following a review of this morning's incident during practice between Angelelli and Bill Auberlen. There was contact between Angelelli's Cadillac LMP 01 and the  #10-GT BMW M3 GTR driven by Auberlen, resulting in Auberlen's car impacting the tire wall in turn nine. After reviewing video evidence of the incident, having examined the reports submitted by the marshals at turns nine and 10, and having heard the explanations of Angelelli and the representative of the competitor, Team Cadillac, the Stewards of the Meeting were of the opinion that the contact was avoidable. Given that the incident was during a practice session, the Stewards felt that Angelelli should not have attempted to overtake at that point on the track, but should have waited until the following straight.
