The first roll-out of the M3 GTR was Monday, March 5, in Aschheim, Germany, followed by a two-day test at Miramas, France, with #43 BMW M3 driver Dirk Muller at the wheel. The car returned to team headquarters for just one day before it was shipped to Sebring.

BMW Motorsports drivers JJ Lehto and Jorg Muller enjoyed brief vacations between the Texas and Sebring races. Lehto was drawn to Fort Lauderdale in sunny Florida while Jorg and Julia Muller basked on a Bahamian beach. Muller arrived at Sebring already tanned and ready for the normally brutal Sebring sunshine.
