INDIANAPOLIS (February 26, 2001) -- The Speedvision
Network has made a programming decision that will be good news to sports
car racing fans across the United States.
Prior to Sunday's 2 p.m. (EST) telecast of the American Le Mans Series Leather Center Grand Prix of Texas, Speedvision will air a 30-minute program previewing the race and the 2001 ALMS season. The preview show will begin at 1:30 p.m. (EST). The Leather Center Grand Prix of Texas from Texas Motor Speedway in Fort Worth, Tex., will be the opening event of the third year of action for the ALMS. Speedvision will be televising at least five ALMS races this season, including live flag-to-flag coverage of the series' two longest events, the Superflo 12 Hours At Sebring and the Petit Le Mans at Road Atlanta. The network will also televise the Aug. 4 event from
Portland, Ore., and the season finale event from North Carolina's Lowe's
Motor Speedway on Oct. 21, as well as the Texas race. In addition,
the network will have complete live coverage of the 24 Hours of Le Mans
from France on June 16-17. |
